Natural stone is a permanent floor intended to last as long as the facility stands.
Natural stone flooring requires two types of maintenance:
- Cleaning maintenance usually provided by a janitorial firm
- Scratch & Gloss maintenance—This is what IMS provides
As wear pattern appear, we remove them. As gloss begins to dull we polish it. When scratches show up we make them disappear.

IMS, Inc. Stone Restoration and Preservation Division are not renovators. We are restorators. What’s the difference?
Renovator – Cleans and polishes the floor using a lot of chemicals to get the job done. Renovations do not resemble the original installation and is mostly a JAN/SAN approach to stone care.
Restoration – Means restoring the stone to its ORIGINAL condition. We do what fabricators do by duplicating their process. In most cases, we use only diamond abrasives and water which is what was used in the factory. To put it simply IMS re-fabricates your stone floor using the same process that was used in the factory without harsh chemicals and other cosmetic alterations. There are no temporary “smoke screens” in our work.
This is what separates IMS Stone from everyone else. We are so confident in our results that we will perform a small demo for you. At the end of the demo we suggest comparing the results to a new stone from your closet stock and you will see an exact match or dramatic improvement. Try the same comparison with another company and you will see the difference.
